do not use nails! If the wall is ';drywall'; then get some drywall anchors. They work great. If you have lathe %26amp; plaster, use a drill and wood screw. Be careful to select the correct diameter drill %26amp; screw for the weight being supported. Never, never, never use nails, even if you rent .In both drywall %26amp; lathe %26amp; plaster the nail hole get loose over time and you'll need to use bigger %26amp; bigger nails. It gets ugly after awhile.
Another option is a adhesive strip that has a hook of some sort on the front. These will work in a limited way and are only as strong as the paint on the wall and the glue being used. I do not reccomend this for those reasons.Whats the best way to hang my wall scrolls up with? thumbtacks or nails?
Purchase self adhesive velcro from the hardware store. Don't poke nail holes in them.Whats the best way to hang my wall scrolls up with? thumbtacks or nails?
Lets see hmmmmm....... hmmmm...... NAILS
nails, if you can, Thumbtacks fall out all the time when you bump the wall scroll, also when you are ready to take it down the thumbtacks fall out and you can step on them. OUCH!!!
Use a double sided tacking tape!
No marks on the wall and none on your beautiful tapastries.
I'm sorry, but I have to laugh at the adhesive answers. How are they better than nails? When you try to remove the adhesive it rips the wall up more than a nail would.
If they do not weigh much, get those little picture hanger nails that go in at an angle, and have a little metal bar that rests against the wall. The hole will be minimal, and when you need to fill the hole, just put a dab of spackling, or drywall mud on your finger and rub it smooth. After it dries, you can run a sponge over it, and the extra residue will disappear.
