I'm attending Ole Miss in the fall and we can't have any wall damage including using nails and screws. But I'm a Girl!! lol I want to hang up decorations, pictures, and a door mirror. How can i support that stuff without nails? What do you use to hang up a mirror and pictures in a dorm room without using nails?
Ok the problem with double sided tape is that they are rated for only a certain amout of weight. Also there may be residue from the tape, depending on the brand. If your walls are made of drywall, I would go ahead and use the nails, in the end they are usually safer, and at the end of your term you can go to your nearest home improvement store, such as Home Depot, and buy Patch and Paint, and a 2'; putty knife. You can use this to fill in the hole and in your final instection before you move out, it would be unnoticeable. What do you use to hang up a mirror and pictures in a dorm room without using nails?
.3M Command Adhesive Hooks provide an easy and affordable way to organize and decorate your home or office. Each hook holds firmly, removes cleanly and leaves no surface damage. Medium hooks hold up to 3 lb., and the large hooks hold up to 5 lb. Reusable. Found this online hope it helps
Double stick tape worked really well. The university I went to reccomended that and painters tape. Just dont use duct tape..it rips the paint right off.
Blue tags
easel, tape
We used sticky tack in ours. You can get it anywhere.
I used the Command. They make hooks and different types of sticky hangings. All you do when your done is pull the tacky thing on the top and it comes off with no dammage. During Christmas they have a lot of commercials for them. You can buy them at Walmart and Target....real cheap! But they do work!
There is a special kind of double stick tape made for things like that...it lookes like foam withstick on both sides....hope it helps!
very strong double sided tape
Use Hercules Hooks. You can buy a package of them at WalMart and they are fairly inexpensive. They are WONDERFUL! It only makes a pinhole mark in the wall. You don't even need a hammer to hang anything. They are very easy and very quick and hold up to about 50 lbs if not more.
ummm....duck tape?!? i hope u do well!!! :)
Those 3M stickies work great. Plus they look better, like whatever you are hanging is directly in the wall.
can you use tape? theres also something i saw on tv sorry i forgot the name :D
i liked ZoomZooms' answer,'cept i call them goliath hooks. can't think of the real name of them, but they're like 1 long piece of wire that you can easily fit into the wall without making a big mess. and they can hold 50lbs. or more.
If you feel like it, just use nails. The rule is that you can't have nail ';damage,'; not that you can't use nails. When you are about to move out, go to Home Depot and get something to fill the holes. No problems.
Most importantly, have fun in college at Ole Miss and go to some parties right away!
3M has a new line of hooks that fasten to the wall and release by pulling a tab without leaving marks. Our dorm rooms had cinder-block walls so we couldn't hang anything, but there was a wardrobe in the middle of the room separating the two desk areas and we used push pins %26amp; thumbtack in the top of that along with fishing line to hold the mirror.
Get some plywood, put it up against a wall and attach your things to it.
You can find door mirrors that hang on top of the door without being nailed, but they tend to mess up the door after a while.
I don't remember what there called but there the hooks that have them things on the back so when your done you just pull the strip and they come right off I hope you just understood me lol
